Editor’s Pick: BLOOM A Story of Rebirth | Stone Ridge Orchard
Inside+Out Upstate NY Editor’s Pick: There are so many wonderful things to do this Memorial Day weekend, but a few stand out from the rest. Like this phenomenal Upstate NY happening called BLOOM. A nighttime experiential, multi-sensory interactive event written and choreographed by the team at Circle Creative Collective – this one is not to be missed!
Join a visceral journey through the woods at night.
BLOOM: A Story of Rebirth is an avant-garde ceremony, breaking the bounds and touching pure magic as creativity emerges from the trees and forest floor, falls from the sky, and is illuminated all around. It’s a spectacle, an inspiration, an awakening and an offering to the earth and our collective future.
Step upon candlelit paths and meet magical creatures who will share wisdom, music, dance, and may even bring hope. Participants will be led through an exciting outdoor performance that celebrates birth and life in all its forms. Experience the unexpected within a forest lush with mystery and wonder.
There are two events. The first is this Memorial Day Weekend: Saturday, May 28, for adults from 8:00 PM to midnight, and the second is on Saturday, June 4th, for all ages, from 8:00 PM to midnight.
BLOOM is living theater wrapped in a dream.
Delicious food, cider, wine, NY beer and more will be available for purchase at the beginning and the end of the journey. Come early or stay later to partake. Feel free to wear your own magical/wonderful garb or wings.
Family Fun! BLOOM: A Story of Rebirth (All ages!) takes place on Saturday, June 4, 2022. Here’s a taste of what to expect:

About Circle Creative Collective | Follow on Instagram
Currently in its third year of operation, Circle Creative Collective offers an ever-evolving line-up of eco-friendly education and craft preservation programming and events, women’s and teen workshops, and economic and teaching opportunities. Programs target Ulster County and beyond, and are focused on restoring value to ancient traditions and skills, reducing stress by offering creative outlets, and helping to dissolve perceived boundaries of race, culture, age, and class.
Circle also offers curated classes for personal celebrations and retreats and creates programming content for cultural festivals and fairs. Circle Creative Collective has birthed BLOOM as a way of connecting the community through creativity, performance, music and nature. Circle’s co-Directors Jenny Wonderling (formerly of Nectar), Melissa Hewitt (of VISITvortex), and Mirabai Trent conceived this idea, and have just enough audacity to bring it to life. They are now choreographing it, organizing makers, musicians, dancers and volunteers and creating workshops to support and manifest this dream.
All of Circle’s Craft Preservation Workshops and Events celebrate the global richness of culture and traditional craft, all with respect for the Earth. Circle helps instill a deep reverence for the value of our backgrounds, cultures, and stories while gathering in the ancient act of creating and sharing handmade creations. This Spring is no exception and they are rolling out an event not to be missed. CIRCLE is also planning an outdoor event for this fall, which will honor the harvest and prepare us for the dark time of going within.
