INSIDE+OUT: Where are you from and how did you wind up in the Hudson Valley?
Jennifer Cutinella: I’m from the Hudson Valley, born and raised here and never left. I love it here!
You have a beautiful online presence. What prompted you to open the luxury boutique Wanderlux Style?
My infatuation with fashion and clothing started at a very young age, and that infatuation continues to this day. I have spent thousands of dollars, on plane rides, train rides, and beach days perusing fashion mags, drooling over all of the luxury brands and items that I never thought I’d ever have access to. When Covid hit, I was about to become an empty nester, I lost my corporate job and spent months doing some soul searching and figuring out what I really WANTED to do. I decided I had to follow my passion for fashion and thus, Wanderlux Style Boutique was born.
What I love the most about your shop, and many people might not know this–you can actually rent outfits and accessories with an amazing collection of top brand designers. Tell us about that.
Wanderlux Style is a Premier ALL Luxury Boutique. Wanderlux Style provides fashion, shoes, and accessories for both men and women from all of the trendiest and luxury designer brands for purchase. We also offer short-term 5-day rental experiences of luxury fashion, shoes, and accessories for both men and women. Luxury items without the hefty price tag, closet space, dry cleaning costs and waste. You can pick up or we can ship your luxury items free of charge. Enjoy them, care for them, then ship them back in their packaging, free of charge. Can’t wait to see what you pick!
With a retail store and an online presence, it’s like running two stores…what does it take to do that?
A lot of time and work.
What does “living simply” mean to you?
Living Simply means prioritizing what matters most to you, exploring new places and living in the moment as much as possible.
What are your favorite and least favorite aspects of running a boutique shop?
Favorite- curating the pieces for my shop and meeting and styling my clients. My least favorite- back end processes and social media.
Where do you find your goods and how do you decide what to sell?
I spend a lot of time curating the right pieces and utilizing connections in retail from my career in corporate America for the best pricing.
You have a great eye for fashion, do you see yourself ever starting your own line?
Thank you so much! I would LOVE that!!
What is one question you’re constantly asked or what’s the biggest misconception about your work?
Is this a consignment store? A lot of people aren’t used to seeing these brands in a small-town boutique outside of consignment shops so they just assume I’m a consignment shop. But my business model is: NEW items, vintage items that have never been worn and the sustainable rental component available on most pieces.
How do you grow your business and how do your clients find you? Do you leverage social media and how is that working for you?
I’m really just growing organically–word of mouth, social media and fortunately, I have some high-profile clients like Ginger Zee From Good Morning America, influencers and pro athletes that have helped build credibility and get my name out there. I am so grateful for them!
What is it about the Hudson Valley that makes it unique to live + work here?
The landscape is so beautiful and unique and the community is so supportive.
What impact does your business have on your community?
It offers access to luxury and on-trend brands at a great price point (especially with the rental option) and in a local boutique instead of driving to The City’s big box stores to get them.

Tell us something about yourself that people might be surprised to know.
I went to private school and had to wear a uniform every day for all 12 years of school! I always tried to wear cool shoes or tights or something because I hated the monotony–which is probably why I like to curate such unique pieces for the shop.
What would be your dream Staycation?
A spa day + a day of eating and drinking.
What is your current state of mind?
Excited!
