Once you meet Richard and Mimi, you’ll want them to be your besties! They dance often, are super fun and multi-talented, and bring abundant creativity to the Hudson Valley with their music, art and video projects. They also run a successful location service business where photographers, art directors and producers book exceptional properties in the Hudson Valley and beyond for commercial film and photoshoots. To learn more about their location business, read our exclusive interview: We Are Upstate NY With the Founders of 6 O’clockLOCATIONS.

Mimi Young is a Hudson Valley artist, fashion stylist and co-partner of 6oclockLOCATIONS. Her artwork is informed by memories of the banal, commonplace yet magnificent moments and objects from everyday life as expressed in her painting, drawing, sculpture and installation bodies of work. Mimi’s work has been shown in both solo and group shows at The Space, Cooperstown Art Association, La Mano Pottery, Emerge Gallery, White Columns Registry, WAAM, WomansWork.art, the Albany Center Gallery and Pinkwater Gallery to name a few.

After 34 years of producing retail fashion advertising photoshoots, today you’ll find Richard Hall editing music videos for littlebitcreates.com, getting his hands dirty gardening, and running 6oclockLOCATIONS with Mimi. He sees himself first and foremost as a musician with a career that spanned the late 70s and through the 80s. Richard started his musical career in Bristol, England, as the founding member of the post-punk band Electric Guitars. The band toured extensively from 1979 – 1983, including two tours of the US in the early 80s. After the Electric Guitars disbanded, Richard worked as a solo artist writing with Rob Fisher of Naked Eyes fame for several years.

By the way, Electric Guitars was signed to the British independent record label Stiff Records, which signed some of the top acts that made up the Punk Rock and New Wave scene from 1976 to 1986. With the catchphrase “if it ain’t stiff, it ain’t worth a f***,” acts included Nick Lowe, the Damned, Lene Lovich, Wreckless Eric, Elvis Costello, Ian Dury, Devo, Madness, The Pogues, Richard Hell and The Voidoids, and others. Needless to say, Richard was in very cool company! Richard still writes music with a contemporary left-of-center pop vibe. Check out his music HERE. Turn up the volume and get ready to dance! SKEWTRONIC is the brainchild of songwriter & producer Richard Hall – who created his own diverse & infectious pop/not pop sound – bringing a bit of the UK to the US.
